For a woman whose life has been fueled by her adventurous spirit, being able to check off all 50 states from her travel list is a great accomplishment. Pat is a woman who moved quite frequently due to the nature of her husband’s job. Pat and her husband have visited every state except for one, ...Alaska.

Pat has a great passion for traveling as well as painting. So, it came as no surprise when Pat said her @wishofalifetime was to travel to Alaska to take a painting class.

Thank you @wishofalifetime, for helping Pat and her daughter get to Alaska. They both attended an outdoor painting class and enjoyed every second of it!

Here's to 103 years of memories and 103 years of life! You are special, and honor is due to all the great experiences life has given you. You've lived a FULL life and have brought so much joy to everyone that knows you.

Happy birthday 🎁🎉

Lakeview resident Marg Magill enjoyed a bowl of her favorite ice cream at Magill's World of Ice Cream . Marg and her husband were the original owners when the shop opened in 1981. Marg said her husband made the ice cream, and she decorated the cakes. The shop is under different ownership but still a favorite in the Lakewood area.

Palos Heights hosted a family "Carnival for a Cause" raising more than $2,000 for the @alzassociation in one night! The evening was filled with tasty treats, an array of carnival games, live music, balloon creations, and the unanimous favorite: the dunk tank 😂

We live in a time where we constantly see people, but do we actually SEE them?

What inherent biases cause us to judge people in our daily lives? Implicit bias occurs unintentionally and affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors. It is the elephant in the room.

At Silver Glen ...Senior Living, residents and team members have embarked on a journey of self-improvement by taking the Harvard Implicit Association Tests. These tests measure the association between concepts such as race versus stereotypes. After completing the tests, participants will then engage in progressive programs that will provide a safe space to discuss the results.

Our hope is to understand inherent biases and cultivate change.

We are ready to address the elephant in the room.

We highly recommend Lakewood Senior Living. Our mother lived there for 8 months and was very happy with the facility. The place is clean and well-appointed. the food is good, and we cannot say enough about the friendly and helpful staff. They have a lot of enriching activities for their residents.

I highly recommend Lakeview Senior Living. My dad lived there for about six years and really enjoyed his time there. Lakeview is a vibrant community with interesting residents. The building - including all of the common areas - is very nice and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly and caring - from the front desk to the dining room to housekeeping. Renee and Kelly are outstanding and very caring leaders of the community. The activities are excellent (the program is led by Karen who does a great job). Dad always enjoyed the exercise classes (there is a first rate work out facility on site) as well as the many and varied word games (like crossword puzzle, marvelous minds and humongous words). There are two active book clubs as well as lots of different outings and special events (like Father’s Day for example). The dining staff does a good job with creating a varied menu and tasty meals (and special events like Mother’s Day brunch). All of these things really enriched Dad’s life and we enjoyed participating in them with him as well. Thanks to all at Lakeview for the great work you do. We so enjoyed being part of the community.

Good website with lots of information. The tour was informative without entirely repeating what we'd seen on the website. Lunch was great, and the residents who introduced themselves and chatted with us were the best. A comfortable, inviting place.

Lakeview is amazing! The staff is welcoming and helpful. The facility is beautiful. My Mom had no interest in Independent Living until she took a tour. She fell in love with it immediately, moved in right away and is ecstatically happy. The food is varied and delicious and the wait staff is very accommodating to preferences. Most of all Mom loves the friendly and interesting residents. It's a great relief to know that she is cared about and happy!
