What is Artbrella?

Artbrella was birthed from the imaginative spark of residents at The Oaks at Algonquin Senior Living. Residents crafted unique umbrellas, each bearing their own creative flair and themes. These masterpieces were then displayed at our annual fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. In its inaugural year, the event took the form of a vibrant runway show, showcasing not only the stunning Artbrellas but also fashion from Chico’s®. Each resident proudly walked the runway with their hand-painted Artbrella, in a celebration of creativity and community.

How can my business participate?

This year we are calling on YOU, the surrounding community businesses! For a suggested donation of $50, you will receive an Artbrella kit loaded with supplies needed to decorate your umbrella in a way that best represents your business. Artbrellas will be modeled on our purple runway at the Artbrellas of Algonquin event on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Prior to the main event, you’ll also receive an invitation to join us in the Artbrella Business Crawl on Saturday, September 14. Once we have our list of participating business, we will curate a public crawl around Algonquin to drive traffic to your business and provide you the opportunity to show off your umbrella, sharing your design inspiration.

Since our community opened in 2022, the supportive surrounding Algonquin community has helped us raise over $9,000 for Alzheimer’s research, and we won’t stop until a cure is found.
