#LifeatLombard
Nervous you won’t make friends? Unlikely! Afraid you’ll have to give up your hobbies? Not a chance. Get a glimpse into our community programming and what life is like living here by checking out our Facebook page. We frequently share what residents have been doing to stay active, involved, and living life to the fullest.
Shout out to our Green Thumb Club for all their dedication to getting our garden up and running! These folks held planning meetings, went to the local garden store, and planted. They will be watering and tending to herbs, vegetables, and flowers all summer.
Residents at Lombard love learning new ways to explore their crafty side. This week we made wire wreaths to brighten up our doors for spring
Last month, we held our Art Walk, which displayed residents' and staff's artwork. It was an excellent opportunity for our residents to talk about their creative process and families to see what we have been up to!
During April, we have been learning about the process and history of art. Each week, we highlighted a famous artist. Last week was Kandinsky. We learned about his process of abstraction in Western art. Our residents created art inspired by one of the pieces. We will be debuting our artwork at our ...art walk!
Our poetry workshop promotes creativity, self-expression, and lifelong learning. This month we focused on Irish Blessings. We read traditional Irish Blessings and wrote some that we would like to share with you.
Blessings for Friends
May your hope be plentiful
And your ...understanding sincere.
May your acceptance be as generous
As the shamrocks are green.
May your flowers bloom
And your day be great.
Blessing for Feasting
May your corned beef be tender
And your cabbage be fresh.
May your table be lively
And your friendships be true.

Our residents enjoyed another Ballroom Dancing class with Alex! Marie said, "Dancing makes you feel better. I used to go out dancing every Saturday night."
The #CraftersCorner is a group of residents creating #DIY (Do it Yourself) projects. They recently made lip balm with nourishing ingredients like mango butter, vitamin E, beeswax and shea butter!
