Nervous you won’t make friends? Unlikely! Afraid you’ll have to give up your hobbies? Not a chance. Get a glimpse into our community programming and what life is like living here by checking out our Facebook page. We frequently share what residents have been doing to stay active, involved, and living life to the fullest.

This month, we began watching our tiny caterpillars grow, form their chrysalis, and emerge as Painted Lady butterflies! Everyone was amazed as we witnessed the metamorphosis happen right before our eyes! We said goodbye to our winged friends this week and released them into our butterfly garden. ...With the help of our master gardener, we learned about and planted flora to create a garden that attracts pollinators!

At Mason, we love our daily kitten snuggles in the Kitten Cafe and weekly dog therapy visits, but today we tried something new goat therapy! The kids from Dream to Reality Farm. Goat Therapy & Livestock Rehabilitation -nonprofit by for a visit and were instantly taken in arms by residents and ...family members for lots of cuddles! We are always open to more snuggle time!

The May edition of Mason Mixin' It Up in the Kitchen was a classic side dish makeover! Pat and her husband Frank shared the recipe for their yummy noodle casserole, which uses ground beef. They say the secret ingredient is cream cheese! Nicki from Entertainment & Programming made her ...gluten-free version substituting rice and ground turkey. The crowd gave both dishes two thumbs up and said they would eat them anytime! Watch for our Mixin' It Up cookbook coming this fall and available with a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.

Look out for the flying ping pong balls! Spaghetti noodles are raining down! And a lot of laughter filled the air at our Minute to Win It Family Night! Residents and family members put their talents to the test with the fun challenges! One skilled team won the coveted Golden Timer!

Hearts were aflutter as butterflies landed on residents and staff at the Krohn Conservatory! It took patience and stillness to entice our winged friends. We are learning about the life cycle of butterflies and even have our caterpillars ready to metamorphose. We also planted a butterfly garden ...on our patio. Watch this space for more exciting photos! #lifelonglearning

"Ask the Master Gardener" was popular at our Earth Day Celebration! Additionally, our residents and families enjoyed planting herbs with the Daisy Girl Scouts and snacking on "dirt" pudding. Everyone got a reusable water bottle and pledged to Go Green in 2023! #earthday

As part of our monthlong upcycling, reduce, and reuse for #Earthmonth. We made flowers using plastic bottles! We also made plantable paper with recycled newspapers, dryer lint, and Forget-Me-Not seeds. Both items were at our Earth Day Celebration🌎✨

In the April edition of Mixin' It Up, Brigitte made the Kartoffelsalat (German potato salad) from her childhood growing up in Germany! Brigitte said the key to making the "lecker" (yummiest) version is lots of bacon. Mason Executive Director Bryan made his homegrown Ohio potato salad... featuring eggs, mustard, and a generous amount of onion. Both were pronounced delicious by the taste tasters! Watch for our Mixin' it Up cookbook this fall which will be available for a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.

Spring cleaning includes our craft supply closet! We enjoyed creating different versions of Earth today by upcycling craft materials from previous projects. We will use these cute suncatchers for decor at our Earth Day Celebration on 4/22!

Hear From Residents and Family of Mason Assisted Living & Memory Care!

My mother has been living at Mason Assisted Living & Memory Care for the last 8 months. When she arrived, she needed help with almost every ADL. She was at the highest level of care and needing constant care. Due to the graciousness of the Lord answering our prayers, my mom's hard work, nursing and care givers and their therapy team, my mom is now on the lowest level of care with only medication management. When we enter the building we are always greeted with smiles from the front desk personal and Michelle (DON) and Brian (Executive Director) have handled our challenges. I would also like to acknowledge Mary Willey, the Director of Entertainment & Programming. Her and her team have come along side my mother and discovered her enjoyment of playing Bridge, reading, and Bible study. This has allowed my mom the opportunity to participate in activities she has always done and to become a true part of the community. Thank you!

I want to thank Mary Willey for helping me with gaining access to the Life Loop application. She was very helpful and made sure I had all the information I needed to celebrate and follow my Mother. Great personal and professional help.

I visit this facility every week to pray the rosary with the residents. It is a lovely facility. It is so clean and pleasant. The residents I meet with seem very happy. The Activities Director, Mary Wiley, and is such a happy and positive person - really fun to talk with. Susanna, the receptionist, always makes me feel welcome to be there. Shelly, the activities staff person who brings the residents to the rosary prayers, is always so helpful and kind.

Update: It has been a year since moving my mom here. She is at the highest level of memory care and mostly bedridden these days. Regardless, her room is spotless, well-taken care of, and in the best of care. She is still communicating and told me recently how pleasant her room is.

My mom moved in Mason Assisted Living this past February, my sister and I searched to find a perfect place for her. From the time we started our search we could not be more thrilled, my mom was resistant at first but blossomed and now calls Mason her home. She has made many great friends, joins in the activities and is so happy. There is no way to name just one person to thank, there are so many who truly love and care what they do. They truly love all the residents, each and every person who has come in contact with mom is a Blessing. They are always open to talk with the care for mom always, they keep us informed. My mom will now be transitioning to Memory Care in a few weeks, all the love and support we have all received during this time has been amazing. They all have teamed up to make sure mom will transition andbe completely cared for. They also have been so kind and loving with us during this time. Lori and Vickie

I love taking clients to tour Mason Assisted Living and Memory Care. It is a well-oiled machine with Kim Lust overseeing the magic. There are always really fun activities going on and the residents look happy and engaged. Kim makes it a point to introduce the prospective client/families to all members of the team. It’s no wonder you’re almost always full. This is what an assisted living and memory community should be. Kudos all around!

My mom transferred from another memory care near Columbus. It has only been a month but I can see a big difference in her. She is happy, participating in activities, and her room is very nice. The staff have been excellent. I am so very happy that we moved her here.

Beautiful facility, kind & caring staff, and top-notch activities! Mason Assisted Living made a huge impression on me when we toured for my mother-in-law. Kim did an excellent job communicating with us every step of the way, and she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and important! Highlights included the delicious food to sample and the Activities Director sharing her talent for music. It was evident that the staff truly love their jobs and value Seniors! Thank you so much!!!

I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff at Mason AL & MC. I walked in late on a Saturday afternoon, no appointment or anything, and Larry was happy to take me on a tour and go over everything Mason AL & MC would be able to offer my mom. The place itself is very luxurious and brand new, and decorated very sophisticated and cleanly, but it still feels comfortable and homey at the same time. Larry and the rest of the team were able to work tirelessly and get my mom moved in within an unprecedented short notice when we were caught in a very tough position when mom got discharged from the hospital too early. They take great care to get to know all their residents personally, and provide them with the level of care they need, and always have a pleasant demeanor. This attitude makes all the difference.

There are not enough positive words to describe the facility and the staff. I moved my mom from another memory care facility, and the difference is unbelievable! The atmosphere is so positive and uplifting! The facility has bright, cheerful colors that uplift everyone’s spirits. From the beautiful “front porch” on each resident’s room, to the enormous windows in the dining/activity room, to the fabulous chef that offers delicious choices and desserts with each meal. The activities are incredible – the residents are always busy, laughing and engaging with each other. They have painting classes, make pumpkins from material, color window clings for the season, or drum to music. I am confident in the care my mother is getting, and she is so much happier since she moved there! My heartfelt thanks goes to all the staff!
