Very impressive property, amenities, and staff. Joanne Arnolde was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. What really impressed me was that she greeted everyone we passed during our tours (residents or staff) by name. That spoke volumes about the community and individual care at Cedar Lake.

Cedar Lake is a special place!My dad was a resident of the Memory Care community. While making the decision to seek care for him was difficult, touring Cedar Lake’s beautiful building, and then receiving guidance from the wonderful staff gave me the peace of mind that he would be well cared for.There were no doubt some challenging days with his disease, but way more often than not, he was engaged in activities that brought a smile to his face and elicited memories for things he liked to do when he was younger. The activity program at Cedar Lake is exceptional. Much thought and care goes into cultivating an environment that is a good balance of consistent engagement and time to rest.I was always immediately informed of any new problems or changes in my dad’s health, and being located right around the corner from the local fire department, he was always attended to within minutes during a true emergency.He was in a wheelchair and Cedar Lake was able to provide accommodating transportation to many of his various doctor appointments, which was very convenient.My dad overall liked the meals offered. My mom was a wonderful cook, so he was spoiled that way for the majority of his life, but he would say he really liked many of the meals.The residence is very clean, cheerfully decorated very much like home, and the way the hallways are laid out like a neighborhood is a nice touch. The activity areas are large, there are comfortable places to have visitswith larger family groups, and there is a sidewalk around the entire building that we enjoyed on nice weather days.I am thankful for the care he received during this time in his life dealing with such a devastating disease. Everyone at Cedar Lake played a part in helping to make a very difficult time much more manageable and we were able to continue making some good memories that I keep close to my heart.Thank you so very much.

Cedar Lake seems like a wonderful community. Joanne was very welcoming and gave me a great tour. I was extremely impressed with the floor plan of the memory care facility, along with the positivity I felt there. There were activities in progress and people seemed happy. There was a waitlist at the time. I decided on a facility closer to my home but recommend Cedar Lakes to others!

From the moment I came into contact with Joanne at Cedar Lake, it has been an easy and amazing journey. Everyone I've come into contact with is always smiling and kind. The nurses are always available. Joanne and everyone that has worked with me for my loved one has gone above and beyond. The facility is always bright and beautiful; it's very clean and in great shape. I would always recommend Cedar Lake and wish I had known about it sooner! My mom was very apprehensive about leaving her house. Moving into Cedar Lake has been a wonderful seamless transition. My mom is already meeting new friends and has found connections already after only 2 days. She is calling me and sharing her new experiences. Everyone is so very nice and loving!! I was there recently for a car show. And Joanne the sales director gave me a tour. The residents are all very happy and friendly, and staff was very kind and caring.

My sister Diane Schroeder is a resident of Cedar Lake. Today I had her take her to the hospital very early for a procedure. Staff had her all set to go, and the nursing staff provided the hospital with all the important information and the meds that she took for the day. Northwestern hospital staff was impressed with the detail of the report.

My mother-in-law spent about a year and a half in this facility, before she had to move on to a different community for memory care. Of the communities that we visited and used, this was my favorite. It has a small, close-knit feel between the residents and staff. The staff are very kind, patient, and helpful to the residents. They have a wonderful movie, reading, and exercise room, and do a great job scheduling activities. We did have a few communication issues where the administration did not give us much warning that she was in need of memory care -- we felt rather rushed and scrambled trying to find her another place.Overall though, I would highly recommend the assisted living.

I want to send out a big thank you to the staff at Cedar Lake. So very compassionate and are taking good care of my mom, Josephine Basquel. They have gone beyond to make sure she is comfortable and happy.A special shout out to Wendy and Elizabeth at the front desk who have made sure my mom’s Xmas gifts were brought to her room and the batteries needed were in place and that she knew who they were from.I can’t tell you how much you all have lifted my spirits during this COVID pandemic when I’m not able to go home and visit her.Gratefully,Judy McCosky

We checked out many places for my Mom, and Cedar Lake stood out from all the rest. Mom moved in last month and she loves living there. The staff are all very nice people and genuinely seem to care about my mom. She now has people to help her with anything that she needs, and she still has all her own furniture in her own apartment. Our family is glad to have found a great place for her.

My Mom is 94 and has been recently diagnosed with Dementia. She can still function well, but needs alot of Cueing. We chose Cedar Lake because of the Residence Club program that seems to be a combination of Assisted Living and Memory Care. Mom moved in 2 weeks ago and has adjusted very well. The Staff is exceptional. Each and everyone we have met that works there, is well trained and very Caring. They havea wonderful daily program of activities to keep Mom active and socializing. The facilities are immaculate and the food is quite good. There were no surprises as everything was clearly explained in advance. So far, I do not think that Mom could be in a better Place, and that is very comforting to me.

This is the most beautiful place I’ve seen by far, as I tour places for my Father. The entire experience was wonderful! Shirley is a beautiful, caring, all around wonderful person!! My tour with her was so nice, and comforting... She really made me feel so much better, and calmed my nerves so much. I’d refer this beautiful home, to anyone without thinking twice!! If you’re having a hard time finding a wonderful place for your loved one... go see Shirley!!! You won’t be disappointed!!

This has been an excellent move and new home for my mother. She is out of her apartment most of the day, enjoying activities or just spending time in the lobby. That was not the case in her prior independent senior residence. The staff is very caring and interacts with my mother affectionately. The food is plentiful, and there is a danger of weight gain, perhaps--but no worries about keeping elders hydrated. I really like the smaller community where there is plenty to do but everything feels personal and unhurried.

My Dad has been at the memory care unit for a few years, basically since soon after Cedar lake opened. I have found the staff to be very nice and enjoy the fact that the fun/activities manager and Memory Care Director are interested in who and what makes my Dad the person he is although the disease has changed him so much. The dignity of the person suffering from Dementia could be so compromised because of what occurs throughout the course of the disease, yet these folks are preserving the person and personality that was once there and is still inside. I commend them for that. The caregivers are great. Your loved ones are in good hands!

Moving my mom into assisted living was not an easy decision, but I couldn't be happier that we chose Cedar Lake. From our initial visit to our moving-in day to her continued care, the staff has made every step of this transition easier. Everyone knows her by name and knows her specific needs, and the open communication let's me know that she is getting great care. She is also very active in the fitness program and attends many of the social events. Knowing that she is safe and happy means the world to my family! I can't recommend Cedar Lake enough.
