At 101 years old, Ruth is our matriarch and the leader of the Cedar Lake Striders Walking Club👣✨
On a beautiful September morning, Ruth suggested we head to Paulus Park for a nature hike. When Ruth talks, people listen! Soon, we had a group head out to explore the park, Lake ...Zurich, and breathe the fresh, cooler air.
Ruth commented, "Every new day is a new chance to take in the beauty that the world has to offer." We couldn't agree more!

Nothing in the world can replace the experience of reading a great book. At Cedar Lake, our book club has grown from 3-4 residents to over 20 residents! We have read everything from classic fiction to brand-new bestsellers, nonfictional biographies, and autobiographies📚✨
We recently... realized that several of the books we have read have been banned at one time or another in some areas of the world. From "To Kill a Mockingbird" to "Of Mice and Men," we have decided to make banned books our theme for the summer and fall. We are currently enjoying "The Grapes of Wrath," which also has a history of being banned in many areas. Reading and discussing the books and the history behind why books are banned has sparked great discussions and debates🗣️
Age fearlessly.
