What’s going on here? 👀 Our Shawnee Hills residents took their mock trial program and turned it into a courtroom battle… but instead of a case, they’re fighting for votes! ⚖️🎨
Here’s the deal: We asked our senior living communities to design and decorate umbrellas—aka ...Artbrellas—to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s. 💜 Each community then made a fun video to rally support for their creation.
Shawnee Hills brought the drama with their Echoes of Justice skit, and now they need YOUR help to win. 🏆

My husband and I moved in to the Independent Living at Aventura Overland Park earlier this year and we have absolutely loved our time here thus far! The staff have gone above and beyond with any and all questions we may have, and the front desk concierge, always greets us with a smile! The activities they offer are top notch and we have enjoyed getting to know other residents through the different programming Aventura has to offer. I would recommend anyone looking for a senior living community in this area to check out Aventura!

Three years ago we moved my Mom from out-of-state to Aventura (then known as Park Meadow). We were worried that at her 90+ age she would have difficulties adapting to a new environment. We shouldn’t have worried! Due to the friendly staff and residents, she made friends immediately and was soon engaged in exercise classes and activities. All members of the staff, from kitchen servers to general managers, show personal concern for every resident.The apartments are an adequate size with sufficient storage.This was an ideal place for my Mom.

Outstanding Experience!We recently completed asphalt and concrete work at a Aventura Senior Living in Overland Park KS. We wanted to highlight what a truly excellent experience it was. Our customers David and April were incredibly accommodating and an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire project.Their willingness to cooperate and their friendly smiles made our job significantly smoother. Toured the facility and was very impressed with it. It was clean even while undergoing upgrades. The floor plans are impressive and pricing very reasonable. Services and activities provided are also impressive.

My husband, Bo Claxton, and his band have entertained here for 7 years and it's been a rewarding experience every time. The residents are so much fun to be with and they love the music Bo plays for them. Michelle, Activities Director, is a pleasue to work with and very responsive to our communications. My husband and I moved into an independent living cottage in (then) Park Meadows in 2017. I remain here after his passing in 2022. Park Meadows went through a number of changes, as is the case in every retirement facility. But the last few years under the current Executive Director, (now) Aventura at Overland Park has been the most well-run and well staffed in all that time. You are always greeted with a smile, from the concierge, the entertainment and transportation director, the business manager, the maintenance staff - all of them - housekeeper and nursing staff. They are each ready and willing to be of assistance, even if it's "not their job." Last week, there was a mix-up on trash pickup. I mentioned that to the Director in an email, and I found my trash had been emptied - by the Executive Director! If you are looking for a place to live that's just the right size - with many choices and a calendar full of all kinds of activities, I highly recommend Aventura at Overland Park.

My 63 year old brother needed to have assisted living rehab services following shoulder replacement surgery and we could not have found a better place than Park Meadows. He healed and thrived during his 3.5 months at the facility. We are so grateful for the care and attention he got from the entire staff. It was kind of bittersweet when it came time for him to return to his independent living in his own apartment. Thanks for everything Paula, Kristi, Trish, and all the wonderful folks who were involved with my brother Jeff's care.

I have lived at Park Meadows for a few years. It has had its ups and downs. I am giving them 5 stars because of some very special staff here. Dave (Maintenance Department) always greets me with a big smile willing to help me with whatever I need help with. His face is one of the first seen if there is any type of maintenance issue. And he tells the worst "dad jokes." Michelle (Entertainment, Activities and Transportation) goes out of her way to find new and stimulating activities and entertainment for all levels of residents. This past summer, everyone enjoyed the beautiful flower and vegetable garden she and residents planted and maintained. She is more than staff, she is my friend. Trisha (Business Office, Concierge, etc.) wears so many different hats and is not afraid to get her hands dirty - literally! She takes care of all the business matters and her door is always open for residents to who have questions (and sometimes to just vent) about rent, meals, service charges, etc. Trisha manages a 24/7 concierge staff who are polite, kind, informative and assistive for all residents and staff. I have know her to take out the trash from the floors on weekends and even fix a toilet when she was Manager on Duty. I agree Park Meadows has had a rough year, however these people have been there for me and the residents making our lives better. They are more than staff, they are Family.

This community has made so many positive changes over the last year. The Director of Nursing and Executive Director truly care about each resident as if they were their own family. They are wonderful people who run a tight ship. Highly recommend!

I am an outside provider that comes in to treat patients at Park Meadows. The administration is so in tune with the residents and their needs. The DON knows so many details about each residents likes, dislikes, family members, etc. The staff treat these residents like their own families. I would recommended Park Meadows to any one looking!

I am an outside hospice nurse that is in the Park Meadows community multiple days a week. I have been in this facility for going on three years now, and I have noticed a TREMENDOUS difference in growth and community care in the last year, or so. Kristy and Tom are amazing leaders that have (in my opinion) turned this facility completely around, for the positive. This is one of my very favorite communities to partner with, and I love how passionate each member of the leadership team is, toward their residents.

My wife is in Memory care, and I am very pleased with the care she receives.The staff are all good at what they do and very personable. I am there everyday, so get a good sense of what goes on.

Mom has been a resident at Park Meadows for several years and we have been happy with her living situation and are pleased with the changes and updates currently being made. We are also encouraged by the dining menu and return to before Covid dining experience.The staff has always been friendly, helpful and kind.

John Xzenus at Park Meadow was so patient ,and if it wasnt for his knowledge and the true caring for our parents and our family .Now it's been about 6 months at Park Meadows and thank goodness because about a month after she got there the love of her life of 48 years passed away during covid, now she's in a safe clean great environment. The staff at the desk and the nurses. Now I do want to say when you first put your parent or parents at assisted living facility it's a huge change for them even it's absolutely necessary its a change for them and us . It is also a huge weight lifted off everyone's shoulders that instead of alone in a house with all the responsibilities living in the house has. Now at Park Meadows three meals a day , everything is taken care of they can do their laundry they can have their laundry done.

I have lived at Park Meadows for seven years. Over the years there have been many changes. We have always been kept aware of the changes and the deadlines.During the Coronavirus Pandemic everything changed. Park Meadows did an excellent job of providing activities, entertainment and delivered meals during this time with strict guidelines. This enabled the residents to relax and it was less stressful.I enjoy living at Park Meadows and look forward to a New and better Year,

Wow, we love Kathy and Daphne at Park Meadows. They made the whole process so much easier during such a difficult time. We cannot believe how hands on and caring they are, not only towards the family, but how much they care for my mom! The facility is light and bright and has a large outdoor area and plenty of room to walk around when not involved in any of the scheduled activities. We love that most every activity can be done by someone with vision issues too. Daphne answered every question and sent us videos of the rooms and entire facility. We feel like we have found mom's forever home and are so blessed! We can't wait for this pandemic to be over so we can visit mom in person.

Park Meadows is getting five (5) stars from me on having just looked at the property, and getting a tour of the independent living cottages. I rely on what reviews people give people, places, and companies, so should it need to be updated once mom and dad move in at the end of the month, I will. The welcoming feeling was appreciated. So far it seems that the mantra of their business is to have seniors move in and stay active as long as they are physically able. They do have independent living and assisted living apartments in the main complex; as well as, a separate memory care facility. The independent living cottages offer small details that mean a lot to those of our greatest generation, i.e. coat closet, linen closet, washer/dryer in cottage, front porch, back patio to name a few. I can't wait to move mom and dad into their cottage in just a few weeks!

My grandmother spent 2 years at Park Meadows prior to her passing. She was very happy there. It is a very beautiful, well kept atmosphere. The housekeeping staff always kept her apartment clean and were very kind to her. She always had very good things to say about everyone that worked there. Before she got sick, she loved all of the activities that Park Meadows offered. I would recommend Park Meadows to anyone.

I go to Park Meadows often for my work. I take clothes and accessories that the residents can buy since it's easier for me to come to them versus them to me. I get to work with the staff as well as the residents. Everyone is so pleasant and it seems like a big family. I go to several other senior living facilities and Park Meadows stands out the most. I feel you can always tell something about a place when the surroundings are always so fun and positive. I've never talked to a staff member that didn't seem to love what they do or to a resident who didn't enjoy their environment. Park Meadows goes out of their way to exceed expectations to all who enter. I always look forward to going back there.
